The group is responsible for beam performance over the CERN accelerator chain from the source to the LHC:
- Covers beam physics issues
- Promotes the application of improvements or novel ideas
- Participates in “operation supervision”
- Is in charge of the Hadron source
The group also carries out R&D activities:
- CLIC/CTF3
- Non CLIC/CTF3: High Intensities Protons (160 MeV Linac, SPL ); Neutrino Factories
The group provides “Technical Superintendence” for PS and SPS Complex:
- First line intervention on Accelerators and Transfer Lines
- General machines and transfer lines management.
